‘They are sleeping children.’ Ten family members were killed in an airstrike on Rafah, hospital officials said
At least 10 family members, including five children aged between three and 16, were killed in an overnight airstrike in a neighborhood in Rafah, in southern Gaza, a local hospital reported.
The mother of the Ayyad family is still missing, according to a CNN report at the Abu Youssef Al-Najjar hospital, CNN footage shows relatives crying over the body of the deceased wrapped in a white shroud.
Those killed were moved several times from the neighborhood of Al-Zaytoun, in Gaza City, in northern Gaza, an uncle told CNN. Following the attack, many children were found with their bodies scattered and missing, relatives added.
Hatem Abu Jamous said his niece and nephew were sleeping quietly next to each other, when the area was hit. “We can’t identify them, they’re all body parts,” he told CNN. “I can’t talk anymore.”
“They were moved from one place to another,” Suzan Abu Touha, who said her sister was among the dead, told CNN. “They were scared and scared and running from place to place and they found no place — and this is the place they found. Where were they going to go?”
