The cast of “13 Going on 30” reunites to celebrate the film’s anniversary and “going on boomer”

Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer reunited virtually to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their hit movie, “13 Going on 30.”

The trio shared a video chat recorded on their respective Instagram accounts on April 23, titled “13 Going on Boomer,” which included bloopers, sweet anecdotes, and their love for the fans who have sustained the film for two decades.

The film centers on Jenna Rink (Jennifer Garner), a teenager whose wish to be “30, flirty and thriving” magically comes true. Overnight, she finds herself transformed into a grown woman with her dream job, but with the sudden challenge of figuring out how to grow up.

Greer, who plays Jenna Rink’s best friend Lucy Wyman, begins the video with a warm welcome to fans, thanking them for “watching our movie and loving it!”

The actor reminisces about the early 2000s, from flip phones to getting all your news from the newspaper. Ruffalo jokingly noted that playing Matt Flamhaff – Jenna’s best friend and love interest – is probably his most recognizable role, even compared to his appearances as the Hulk in several Marvel movies.

“There are two types of people in this world. There are Hulk people, and there are 13 Going on 30 people, and I got the same number,” said Ruffalo.

Greer also shared a fun fact: Brie Larson, now Captain Marvel herself, has a role as “Six Chick #3” in the film.

The celebration wouldn’t be complete without a nod to the film’s iconic dance scene to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

The video ends with the actors trying to closely recreate their moves, to which Greer jokingly adds, “You’re going to make me puke.”

The reunion comes just months after Garner’s speech at Ruffalo’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, where he teased her about almost quitting their movie because of the “Thriller” dance sequence.

In his speech, Garner joked, “I wonder if he’s trying to quit their movie, like he did our movie after the first rehearsal of the ‘Thriller’ dance where Mark was shocked that we actually had to do this. , getting agitated, being quiet, to ‘Bro, this is not for me.’”
