Christina Applegate shares details of struggles with MS, Covid and Sapovirus

Christina Applegate hasn’t been able to catch a break lately. The Dead to Me actress bravely battled a series of health issues in addition to her previously diagnosed multiple sclerosis (MS). In the latest episode of her podcast, MeSsy, co-hosted with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate revealed her recent string of illnesses in graphic detail.

After contracting the novel coronavirus, Applegate suffered lingering effects of COVID including a racing heart and chest infection.
But worse is to follow. He later contracted sapovirus, a stomach bug so bad he described it as “pissing out of his ass for days.” Applegate believes she may have contracted sapovirus from an old favorite restaurant.

The debilitating symptoms made a normal life difficult, including the heartbreaking inability to visit her brother’s new baby.
Applegate shared another horrifying experience stemming from her illness that led to a candid conversation about adult diapers with Sigler, who also has MS.
The pair criticized the design of adult diapers, calling for features such as velcro sides and a less “cheerful” design.
