Alec Baldwin lashed out at Palestinian supporters after being asked about the “Karat” shooting.
Footage of Alec Baldwin punching a woman’s phone out of her hand has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Baldwin is seen in a New York City coffee shop when a woman known as Crackhead Barney (a performance artist) pesters him for answers.
The woman initially pressured Baldwin to denounce Israel and say “Free Palestine.”
The actor kept his composure as he asked her to leave and instructed the staff to call the police.
Barney went on to ask Baldwin about the deadly shooting on the set of the Western movie Rust in 2021, prompting the SNL star to punch the camera out of the protesters’ hands.
Crackhead Barney later released a statement defending his actions, calling it “confrontational media” and a protest against the double standard of society in the US.
He positioned the incident as a criticism of the entertainment industry for remaining silent on Israel’s actions against the Palestinians.
Israel has killed over 34,000 Palestinians including 14,000+ children and injured 76,000 others in its assault on besieged Gaza since October 7.
Baldwin will go on trial in July on involuntary manslaughter charges related to the “Rust” set shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. He has pleaded not guilty.
