Morgan Wallen expresses regret over Nashville arrest: “I Take Responsibility”

Country music singer Morgan Wallen has publicly addressed his recent arrest in Nashville, Tennessee, expressing remorse and accepting responsibility for his actions. In a statement shared on social media, Wallen stated, “I didn’t feel right checking in publicly until I made changes with a few people.” He admitted to contacting Nashville law enforcement, his family, and the management of Chief’s, the honky-tonk bar where the incident took place.

The 30-year-old singer, known for hits like “Last Night,” found himself in police custody on charges of endangerment and disorderly conduct after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of Eric Church’s establishment, Chief’s on Broadway. The chair landed near two officers, causing him to be arrested.

Despite the weight of the charges, Wallen maintained his touring schedule, confirming that there are “no changes” to his ongoing One Night in a Time World Tour. The decision follows his release from the Davidson County Jail on April 8, where he was being held on $15,250 bond. Wallen is expected to appear in court on May 3, coinciding with the tour’s second scheduled stop in Nashville.

A source close to the DailyMail’s Wallentold suggested that personal turmoil may have contributed to his anger, particularly his reaction to the recent marriage of his ex-fiancée, Katie “KT” Smith, to Luke Scornavacco. The couple’s union reportedly affected Wallen deeply, leading to what was described as a moment of reality that hit him over the loss of his ex-partner.

Additionally, concerns about Wallen’s drinking habits have arisen, with insiders telling PEOPLE, highlighting his tendency to struggle with alcohol. Despite his friendly demeanor, sources claim that Wallen’s difficulty in moderating his alcohol consumption has been an ongoing issue.

This incident marks not Wallen’s first time with the law. In 2020, he was arrested at Kid Rock’s Nashville bar on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Additionally, Wallen faced a DUI charge in 2016, though that case was eventually dropped.

As Wallen navigates the aftermath of his arrest and prepares for his court appearance, the focus remains on the famous musician as he grapples with the ramifications of his actions.
