Tom Brady gets roasted by Rob Gronkowski, Kim Kardashian and more in Netflix’s ‘The Greatest Roast of All Time’

Tom Brady took some major hits from his former teammates, comedians and even Kim Kardashian during Netflix’s “The Greatest Roast of All Time” on Sunday.

The “GROAT” special is hosted by Kevin Hart and is streaming live on Netflix. The former NFL quarterback proved to be a good sport as he talked about his divorce from Gisele Bündchen, his looks, his two retirements, “deflategate” and his FTX investment scandal, among many other hot topics.

Comedian and famed “Roastmaster General” Jeff Ross served as producer and kicked off the event, quipping that Brady is an example to the next generation that “if you work hard, eat right, film the other team’s practice, deflate the football and do the NFL make new rules just for you, then you too can be the third most famous man in a Dunkin Donuts ad.”

In a surprise appearance, Kardashian took to the stage to tease Brady about speculation the two dated briefly last year.

“I’m never going to say if we did it or not, I’m just going to put the tape out,” he said, referring to the many headlines inspired by the recording scene in his life.

Boston native and Brady fan Ben Affleck revealed that while the two were filming a Super Bowl spot, Brady asked the actor and director to look at his social media comments.

“It’s the most toxic thing I’ve ever been through — and that’s saying something,” Affleck joked.

“That doesn’t make you a fan,” he told the Brady troll. “That makes you a b—.”

Will Ferrell appeared as his “Anchorman” character Ron Burgundy, called Brady a “true Patriot until he wasn’t, of course,” and joked that it took Bündchen “13 years to learn what we all know: Tom is boring.”

Brady and Bündchen’s divorce was fodder for several times throughout the night, with Brady often shown sipping his drink when it was mentioned. The former couple jointly announced in October 2022 that they were separating.

Rob Gronkwoski, Julian Edelman, Randy Moss and Drew Bledsoe, who all played with Brady throughout his career, and former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick took turns burning the MVP. Peyton Manning and Patriots owner Robert Kraft also appeared.

Gronkowski talked about how “spirited” he is to have both Brady and Belichick together, saying, “everyone thinks you hate each other but I’ve seen it firsthand, you’re both really alike. You’re both tough guys who hate pleasure.”

Comedians Bert Kreischer, Tom Segura, Nikki Glaser, Andrew Schulz, Tony Hinchcliffe and Sam Jay had fun having their picture taken, with Glaser joking that Brady was “the best to play in a long time.”

Brady may have seen a certain loss on Sunday but his decades-long NFL career is nothing short of remarkable.

During his 23 years as the league’s leading quarterback, Brady won seven Super Rings – six with the Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was also a five-time Super Bowl MVP and won three NFL MVP awards.

He first announced his retirement in February 2022. He eventually reversed his decision and returned to the field for one more season with the Buccs before officially retiring last year.

At the end of the roast, Brady finally had a chance to defend himself, saying that people had asked him why he agreed to do the event.

“It’s easy,” Brady said. “I can take all the shots. I would have done it earlier but I was too busy winning the championship.”
