Theresa Nist talks about ‘Golden Bachelor’ divorce from Gerry Turner
Although her marriage to Gerry Turner didn’t last long, Theresa Nist looks like she was left with gratitude.
The woman who found love on “The Golden Bachelor” split just three months after the televised wedding thanked her supporters in a post on her Instagram account that was confirmed on Monday.
“To everyone who has expressed love, support and kindness to me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all great people,” he wrote. “It means a lot to me that you take the time to reach out to me, whether it’s in person, by phone, by text or by direct message. You are all very kind to do so.”
He also had some words for “all the people who are confused and angry and who don’t understand,” urging them to “try a little kindness.”
“It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, something I never expected to happen at this point in my life and I really thought it would last forever,” Nist wrote. “It turns out, even at 70, you don’t know everything.”
“Sometimes things don’t go the way you plan and that’s okay,” he continued, adding that the experience was overall positive for him.
“I ask you to remain open to all experiences, opportunities and love that may come your way,” Nist concluded his post. “Keep smiling, keep laughing… I will. I love you all.”
“The Golden Bachelor” is the first spinoff from “The Bachelor” franchise that focuses on senior contestants.
