A good speakerphone can make even the most boring conference call a little more bearable. At least that’s our hope for you. Even so, it’s hard to declare one speakerphone as the best overall speakerphone for everyone. Some speakerphones are aimed at small businesses, with multiple people sitting around a conference room table rather than one person working from home or in a hybrid environment, while others can be overloaded with features, depending on your use case situation. Still, the best speaker fonts stand out from the back, which is why they’re at the top of this list. These include the Jabra Speak2 55 and Speak2 75, as well as the Beyerdynamic Space Max. We also like EMeet Luna Plus as a value option.

Since 2020, I have evaluated dozens of speaker fonts and I have tested all the speaker fonts on this list. I not only reviewed how it works as a speaker phone but also how it sounds for listening to music and the connectivity options they offer (and any other special features worth noting). All include some type of wired USB connection for Windows PCs and Macs, and most also have a Bluetooth option so you can connect wirelessly. Additionally, some include Bluetooth UC dongles that are compatible with the industry standard universal communication format. The USB dongle enables a more reliable Bluetooth connection to the computer. As with UC headsets, speakerphones with UC Bluetooth options can cost a little more.

Since premium speakerphones can be quite expensive, I’ve also included some of the best budget speakerphones for those looking to spend less than $100 — or less than $50. Jabra has revamped its speakerphone lineup for 2024, adding three new redesigned models that will eventually replace the outgoing Speak 410, 510 and 710. The Speak2 55 is the middle model in the line and is only slightly more expensive than the Speak2 40, which I have ‘Haven’t tried, but seems similar. (They’re the same size and both the Speak2 40 and Speak2 50 have 50mm drivers.) The Speak2 75 is the flagship model and offers the best sound quality and significantly better battery life in wireless Bluetooth mode — 32 hours compared to 12 hours for the Speak2 55. said, it may be overkill for some and also expensive.

I love how Jabra has redesigned the new models, giving them a sleek, clean look and all models include an integrated USB-C cable with a USB-A adapter that lets you plug the speaker directly into a Mac or Windows PC. The relatively compact Speak2 55 comes with a nice-feeling carrying case and is relatively light, weighing 280 grams (9.88 ounces), making it easy to slip into a bag and take anywhere for conference calls on the go. Although it offers Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, it does not come with a USB Bluetooth dongle to plug into your PC for a more reliable wireless connection with the computer.

It’s equipped with four beam-forming noise-canceling microphones with background noise reduction technology (the person I spoke to said my voice sounded clear) and I think the sound output is better than the Anker PowerConf S500, which sells for a little more. You can use the Speak2 55 to listen to music but don’t expect great sound quality. It’s acceptable for casual listening but not much bass. Not surprisingly, you get better sound with the larger and more expensive Speak2 75).
