Taylor Swift featuring Ethan Hawke in ‘Fortnight’ music video is actually a ‘deep disappointment’ for her Swifties

Ethan Hawke’s teenage daughters seem less than impressed that he appeared in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Fortnight.”

When Hawke’s two daughters — Clementine, 15, and Indiana, 12 — found out about their father’s cameo, “the look on their faces was one of deep disappointment,” she said on Monday’s episode of “The Late Show.” That’s because, according to the “Dead Poets Society” cast, Swift asked Hawke the wrong thing.

“‘Don’t pay attention to my dad, my dad is stupid,'” Hawke joked about what his daughter thought of Swift’s choice. “‘You should have called me.'”

Hawke appeared in the music video for “Fortnight,” the lead single from Swift’s latest album “The Tortured Poets Department,” alongside “Dead Poets” co-star Josh Charles.

The “Leave the World Behind” actress told “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert this week that she understands her daughters’ views as young Swifties, saying, “Taylor is theirs. I can’t have that on them.”

Hawke, however, still gets a kick out of keeping this monstrosity a secret not only from his own daughter, but from the Swifties he and Charles saw sporting “Eras Tour” merchandise at the airport on their way to shoot the video.

“We got something about them,” he recalled thinking. “We will see the queen herself now.”

“Fortnight,” featuring a collaboration with Post Malone, remains atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a second week after debuting at No. 1.

“For Josh and I, we laughed ourselves silly all day,” Hawke said of the shoot. “We feel like the biggest rock stars in the whole world.”
