More than 10,000 women have been killed in Gaza since the war began, the UN said

More than 10,000 women have been killed in Gaza since Israel’s war with Hamas began in October, UN Women estimated in a report published Tuesday.

“Six months after the war, 10,000 Palestinian women in Gaza have been killed, among them an estimated 6,000 mothers, leaving 19,000 orphaned children,” he said.
The report said more than 1 million Palestinian women and girls in the Peninsula are facing “horrendous starvation,” with almost no access to food, safe drinking water, functioning toilets or running water, creating life-threatening risks.

“A child is injured or dies every 10 minutes,” he added.

“Women who survived the bombing suffer daily hunger, pain, and constant fear. The war in Gaza is without a doubt a war on women, who pay a high price for a war that is not their product”, said Susanne Mikhail, Regional Director of Women United Nations in Arab countries at a media briefing in Geneva.
The IDF has said that it is trying to reduce the danger to civilians in Gaza.
