Lily Gladstone to join Greta Gerwig’s jury for Cannes 2024

Lily Gladstone, an Oscar-nominated actress best known for her recent award-winning performance in Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” will be part of the jury at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The jury, headed by Barbie director Greta Gerwig, included French stars Omar Sy and Eva Green.

The festival, which takes place on France’s Cote d’Azur from May 14 to 25, will see Gladstone as the youngest member of the jury at the age of 37.

The main responsibility of the jury is to select the winner of the Palme d’Or, the main prize of the festival, from a pool of 22 films.

This year’s selection includes the highly anticipated return of Francis Ford Coppola with his epic film “Megalopolis.” Also among the contenders is the Donald Trump biopic “The Apprentice,” directed by Iranian-born filmmaker Ali Abbasi.

Omar Sy is a leading figure in French cinema, gaining international recognition for his role in the popular Netflix series “Lupin.”

Eva Green, known for her unforgettable performance in “Casino Royale” and appearances in several Hollywood blockbusters, also added star power to the jury.

The jury also included Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda, winner of the 2018 Palme d’Or for “Shoplifters”, Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino, Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona, Lebanese director Nadine Labaki, and Turkish screenwriter Ebru Ceylan.
