Is Ye, officially Kanye West, headed to Russia?
According to Russian media reports, popular artist Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is reportedly scheduled to headline a major event in Moscow on June 8, coinciding with his 47th birthday.
Russian publication Mash Telegram reports that Ye has signed a deal with local event organizers to perform at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
However, this report was quickly refuted when representatives from the stadium denied the existence of such a concert.
Former Estonian soccer player Eduard Ratnikov revealed to Russia’s TASS that he communicated directly with the West a few months ago, after the American artist expressed interest in holding a concert in Russia.
However, Ratnikov dismissed the notion, saying, “But it didn’t end in anything because it was a completely empty story. When I saw this fake news today, I checked with Luzhniki’s management just in case, and at there, naturally, they deny this news.”
Ye’s fans have voiced concern, advising him to address the validity of the report.
Ye’s fans wasted no time criticizing the speculation, expressing their disapproval of the controversial rapper. “smh unnecessary risk, this will further damage his image and further alienate regular fans,” commented one person on a Reddit thread.
