For Anne Hathaway “forty feels like a gift” as she celebrates five years of sobriety

Actress Anne Hathaway is celebrating being “over five years sober.”

In a recent interview with The New York Times, he admitted, “I don’t usually talk about it, but I’m over five years sober. That feels like a milestone for me.”

The “Love & Other Drugs” actress first hinted at her decision to quit alcohol during a 2019 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

At the time, she explained that getting badly drunk after dropping her son off at school was the turning point, making her realize she wanted to be fully present for him.

Hathaway, who is now 41, also revealed how she feels about getting older, “Forty feels like a gift. The fact is that I hesitate to call things “middle-aged” simply because I can be a semantic clamper and I can be hit by a car later today.

“We don’t know if this is middle age. We don’t know anything.”

The “Princess Diaries” actress also surprisingly teased a possible third installment for her beloved franchise.

When asked about “Princess Diaries 3,” Hathaway simply replied, “Yes.” This is a shift from previous comments where Hathaway had suggested a third film was unlikely. Fans will be eager to see if this cryptic response translates into a return to the fictional kingdom of Genovia.

Hathaway’s latest film – “The Idea of You” – directed by Michael Showalter, is an adaptation of Robinne Lee’s romance novel. It stars Hathaway as Solène, a divorced mother who finds herself falling for a much younger celebrity played by Nicholas Galitzine.
