Clashes broke out between police and families of Gazan hostages in Tel Aviv
Clashes between Israeli police and family members of hostages held in Gaza erupted Wednesday night in Tel Aviv.
Police said two people were arrested after protesters pushed through barricades and confronted officers. Two police officers were slightly injured in the scuffle, a police statement said.
A police statement said officers remained at the protest site to maintain public safety and order.
Natalie Zangauker, sister of Israeli hostage Matan Zangauker, was among those injured during the fighting.
In a social media video, Natalie Zangauker’s mother sat next to her in the hospital room. Earlier in the protest, a social media video showed Zangauker on a car during the protest, holding a picture of his missing brother.
“This won’t stop him tomorrow from going out into public areas in agony to scream again, bring back Matan. Bring back the hostages. Stop the war with Hamas. It won’t stop Natalie. It won’t stop me. It won’t stop us,” Natalie’s mother said in a video from the hospital room.
